Richard joined Jacobson & Schmitt because of its belief that it can serve investors in a responsible manner, and the advisors’ practice of investing in companies right alongside its clients’ helped “seal the deal.” Rich has devoted his life to helping others invest well in a complicated world and understanding biases we all face in making financial decisions.
Before joining JSA, he was a research analyst at a mutual fund company that did not allow its team to buy individual stocks – something he found a bit odd. His experience and training as an institutional investor lend a unique set of skills and viewpoints that adds to the uniqueness that JSA can offer its clients. Rich spent his early career in engineering, but not long into it he had an epiphany that he would be better off following his passion. That led him to earn an MBA from the University of Wisconsin’s Applied Security Analysis Program – a program with a long-standing reputation for producing successful investment professionals.
